Schools across the country will mark National School Breakfast Week, March 6-10. It's a great time for your school to run special promotions, incorporate breakfast-related nutrition-in-the-classroom activities, and generally highlight the healthfulness, convenience and variety of the breakfasts available to students. Not sure where to start? The School Nutrition Association and many other organizations have resources that you can easily put to use to build interest in school breakfast, in general, and National School Breakfast Week. Here are a few we've rounded up:
All of these resources, as well many others, are available on the NutriStudents K-12 client portal under "Resources" in the "Training & Resources" tab.
NutriStudents K-12, of course, helps make serving nutritious, kid-friendly breakfasts a breeze for you. We also have a new issue of Cafeteria Connection promoting school breakfast. This newsletter for parents can help you build participation in your school meal program. There are nine issues total, all of which can be accessed under "Cafeteria Connection" in the "Training & Resources" tab in the client portal.
We'll soon be introducing our Breakfast Menu Builder tool, an interactive, online tool you can use to custom create your USDA-compliant monthly breakfast menus and corresponding Food Production Reports. Stay tuned for more on this in the coming weeks!
