Plan now to participate in the SFSP

Summer's coming. And when it does, many kids will go without regular, nutritious meals like those they get during the school year.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), the USDA’s child nutrition program that ensures children in at-risk areas continue to receive healthy food on a regular basis after school recesses, needs more schools and nonprofits to sponsor and host feeding sites.

If your school/district or nonprofit organization is in an eligible geographic area, generally defined as an area where at least 50% of children receive free or reduced-price school lunch, consider joining the program today. Deadlines are fast approaching!

Extensive Support Available

Participating in the SFSP does not have to be burdensome. The USDA has developed a wide range of resources to support schools and organizations interested in participating in the SFSP, whether as a sponsor or a feeding site. NutriStudents K-12 is happy to be a resource as well.
