Second Harvest Heartland and No Kid Hungry are now accepting applications for their 2017 Summer Food Service Program Grants for new and returning program sponsors. Grants of $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 are for sponsoring organizations only - organizations administering the program through multiple individual feeding sites.
To be considered for 2017 grant funding, the SFSP application process must be initiated with your state's agency before applying for the grant. Grant payments are only awarded to approved program sponsors.
Among other criteria and requirements, grant applications are evaluated on the “ability to reach high-need populations and/or areas under-served by summer meals programs," “growth potential for summer meals participation," and a proposal that demonstrates "an understanding of the specific needs in your community" and contains a well-conceived plan for implementing the SFSP.
After reviewing the criteria linked above, you may apply online via No Kid Hungry.
