Verndale ISD #818 capitalized on the theme of National School Breakfast Week, "School Breakfast - Out of this World!" to promote the benefits for school breakfast. Students were invited to celebrate #NSBW20 with "Astronaut" Parker. After students were all in the cafeteria, the lights went out, stars shone on the ceiling, strobe lights set the stage for Astronaut Park to make his appearance. The school nutrition professionals wore alien-esk glasses and antennae. Students "ate it up!" The district also hosted a parent lunch and a book fair during the week.
